When it comes to short-term specialist support for specific projects or issues, we are able to offer our support in two ways.

Secondly, we can source and facilitate independent third party contractors to your project or business. We will deal with all the legalities of such a relationship including advice and support understanding the implications of the Off-PayRoll (IR35) tax legislation.
Our contractor recruitment process works as follows:
Definition – We work with you to understand the nature of the short term work required. We use our experience as qualified Quantity Surveyors to understand the issue and identify the skills needed.
Search – We will leverage our relationships within the industry to identify any suitable contractors that may be available to help. We will also draw on our database of Quantity Surveyors registered with HHL to identify any potentially suitable options.
Assessment – We will engage any suitable contractors to undertake initial desktop assessments against the key criteria to ensure suitability for the role.
Testing – Where applicable, we will undertake tests on the contractors to evaluate technical understanding of the role. This will be typically be in the form short interview assessment undertaken by a qualified HHL Quantity Surveyor.
Referencing – We will undertake adequate referencing including telephone discussions with any professional references provided by the candidate.
Interview – We will present the best talent to you for final interview. We can either leave that step to you entirely or else we can facilitate or lead the interview if preferred.

- Experienced Project Quantity Surveyors to assist with short term workload issues or staff absence/leave
- Claims Specialists to assist with problematic projects or suppliers
- Quantum Analysts to support with the valuation of change or prologation
- Contracts Specialists to support with contract reviews, negotiation or disputes on your behalf
- Programme specialist to review entitlement to extensions of time and delay and disruption
- NEC3/NEC4 specialists to support NEC contract administration
