HHL is a regulated firm of Chartered Surveyors (Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors)
We are a management consultancy focused on providing quantity surveying and commercial management services. We are experienced within the UK and international civil engineering sectors, working within contractor organisations delivering projects on a wide variety of contractual mechanisms.

Our Philosophy

We believe that the best commercial outcome for our client's is a profitable project with a satisfied client who is motivated to engage in future business. It is our belief that this is possible on every occasion so long as the expectations are clearly defined at the outset and the commercial arrangement between the parties is fair and reasonable.

To do this we believe in a philosophy of collaboration, professionalism and trust. We work with and on behalf of our client's in a way that is conducive to maintaining positive relationships with all stakeholders despite the inevitable issues that will arise throughout any engineering project. We respect our profession by always undertaking business in a professional manner and in accordance with the rules and regulations which may apply. We will not deliberately mislead or misrepresent the facts in order to facilitate an unfair outcome.

Our Story

The company was founded by Matthew Hardy, a Chartered Surveyor with an extensive background in a range of construction and engineering industries. Matt has spent the vast majority of his career in the civil engineering sector - both in the UK and Australia. He has held senior roles within client, consultant, contractor and subcontractor organisations.

HHL was initially established in Manchester and has strong roots in the city. However, Matthew and his young family relocated to the north west of Ireland in late 2022 and it is here that the company is based currently. We have daily flight links to all the major UK cities for face-to-face meetings with clients. In addition, we are well accustomed to remote working practices which are suitable to undertake the vast majority of our services.
